Chapter 1 - Basic Conversation Skills

Giving and Getting Information

When you have a conversation with your child, both of you need to have a turn at talking. Think of the conversation as a teeter-totter ride where each one of you takes equal turns at being up. You might have to assist your child by giving him/her plenty of time to take his/her turn.

  1. Let your child take a turn in the conversation
  2. Make sure there is a balance to the conversation
