Limited Access

Limited Access Example 1

Brandon's skill to learn is to Request Help When Needed.
Brandon and his teacher are together.
His teacher sets things up for limited access by placing the marble game out of physical reach.
Brandon shows interest in the marble game by saying, "I can't get the marble game."
His teacher responds by asking Brandon to, "Say, help me please."
Brandon says, "Help me please."
Brandon gets a natural reward when his teacher gets the game down for him.

Limited Access Example 2

Tyrel's skill to learn is to Seek Relationships With His Peers.
Tyrel and his teacher are together.
His teacher sets things up for limited access by placing the objects in a closed container.
Tyrel shows interest by struggling to open the container.
His teacher responds by saying, "Maybe you could ask Hanna for some help."
Tyrel says, "Help" and "Thank you" to Hanna.
Tyrel gets a natural reward by getting to play with the cookie cutters.

How did the adult set things up for each of the two examples? What could the adult have done if the child had not shown interest?
